Shane Hawley

Designer / Artist / Architect

Shane Hawley was born in the Badlands of North Dakota in 1982. Before pursuing architecture, he worked as a musician, artist, menswear designer, and stage manager. These roles gave him a deep understanding of materials, spatial experience, and the importance of subtle details.

In 2015, Shane returned to school to formalize his interest in spatial design. He earned a Master’s in Architecture from North Dakota State University in 2020 and has since established a practice focused on large-scale commercial and residential projects, with a particular emphasis on custom homes and high-end corporate environments.

Shane’s philosophy is that architecture and interior design are inseparable. He approaches each project as a unified process, focusing on seamless transitions between structure, surface, and space. His designs use pure, tactile materials to create clean lines and understated confidence. He respects context and tradition without imitation, ensuring functionality, durability, and comfort in every decision.

Shane’s architectural approach values aesthetics without following trends. Whether specifying Venetian glass lighting and Shou Sugi Ban charred cedar for a 15,000-square-foot corporate office in Austin’s first mass timber building or designing a cantilevered Hill Country home, his goal remains the same: to create timeless, sensory spaces centered on the needs and integrity of their users.

He is based in Austin, Texas, where he continues to develop work across the Texas Hill Country and beyond.
